Vinod K. Goswami

Born in Nand village near Mathura in 1970, Vinod K Goswami passed his BFA from the Rajasthan School of Art in Jaipur and MFA degree from the College of Art in New Delhi, where he currently teaches as a visiting faculty. Given his middle class brahmin lineage, father being a sanskrit scholar and grandfather an astrologer, his engagement with spirituality in work seems natural. Inspired by Indian scriptures particularly Geeta and its philosophy, his art evokes a meditative streak, a world within a world. Natural elements featured in his paintings of the iconic imagery are reflective of the impact that panchatatva and seasons have on human body and soul. Goswami’s radiant paintings glow like precious stones with translucence. He has done several portraits too. His repertoire also includes sculptures and murals in wood, glass, and other materials besides paintings, drawings and prints. Recipient of Rajasthan State LKA award among others, the artist has participated in numerous camps and workshops besides conducting art classes. His work has been exhibited in solo and group shows at Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Brussels and is part of several private and corporate collections in India and abroad besides the UP and Rajasthan State academies of art. Vinod lives and works in Delhi.
