Born in 1976 at Tamluk, West Bengal, Pradip completed his BFA and MFA from Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan. His visual language is a reaction to the situations that life has to offer and it features images of the world seen and experienced. At times as an active player and at others as a passive onlooker, his work constitutes what he has encountered during his journey from a small town in Bengal to the artistic atmosphere of Santiniketan and then into the busy buzzing life in Delhi. The journey, in a given time and space, the changed and charged atmosphere, the aspiration and struggles, the grievances and loss, all appear as symbols in his compositions. They may be imaginative or random fantasy, but have their roots in the real world. The artist has had several exhibitions in various Indian cities and also received many accolades for his works, including the International Award for Painting from the Government of Poland. He has also participated in several art camps and residencies. Pradip lives in Ghaziabad in Delhi’s vicinity and works from his studio at home.
