Born in 1957 at Sant’ Antimo, Naples, Italy, Prasanta Dasa, formerly known as Di Giovannantonio Pietro, studied art first at his high school and then at the Art Academy in Naples, and was greatly inspired by Italian Renaissance Art. From 1980 to 1986, Prasanta was part of the International Art Academy at Villa Vrindavana in northern Italy. The artist finds inspiration for his work from his spiritual meditational practices and his experience of contemporary art. In cooperation with Pandu Putra Dasa, he has restored and cleaned several paintings at the Bhaktivedanta Manor in the UK. He is currently working on restoring the paintings at Villa Vrindavana.
