Uma Sharma born in 1950 in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, pursued her academic training and passed a Master’s degree in art from the S.N.D.T University in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Using paper as her medium, she paints without taking recourse to a brush or paint! Her imagery comes filled with temples, houses, streets, and people, made up of different coloured paper. The diligently put together, the assembly brings alive the compositions. Uma’s work has been exhibited in shows held at Mathura, Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow and in other cities. Recipient of J.U.K Mathura and U.P. RATAN awards amongst others, her work has been acquired by collectors in India and in the U.K., European countries, Australia, and U.S.A. The artist lives and works in Mathura, India.
