Nandita Chaudhuri

Nandita Chaudhuri, born in 1957 at Ahmedabad has an MA in Visual Arts from Camberwell University of Arts and a Post Graduate Diploma from the Chelsea College of Art and Design both in London, where she was based for the past 15 years. Working in an abstract genre, her compositions break free of pre-conceived definitions and stereotyped compartmentalization. Evoking an ephemeral yet bold aura, her narratives suggest a distinct transnational context and come with textures incorporating select residual products. Her works have been selected for auctions, and as part of exhibitions at Saatchi Gallery and Royal Academy London, besides other shows including those held at Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. Predominantly a painter, Nandita has also worked on installations and art films. Formerly an Advisor and Committee Member for The Royal Academy of Arts, London, she is currently based in Mumbai and works from her studio in the city.
