Sharad Bharati

Born in 1960 at Jaipur in Rajasthan, Sharad Bharati is a graduate in Science and also holds a post-graduate diploma in Advertising and Journalism. But given his passion for art, he diverged from his track to pursue art and learnt traditional Indian Miniature painting techniques, under the tutelage of the internationally renowned guru, Late Vedpal Sharma, better known as Bannuji. His paintings, in traditional Indian style, are marked for their fine execution and brilliant colours. The artist also works on restoring old miniature paintings with handmade material including natural and vegetable pigments for his work. He has participated in several exhibitions and attended camps organized by various organizations including the National Museum of India in collaboration with UNESCO. He has been felicitated with awards by the Asian Heritage Foundation, Mapin Publishing, National Museum, and National Kalidasa Samman; the last one twice, in 2006 and 2010. His works are in significant private collections and with public organizations in India and abroad. The artist is associated with Bannu studio. He lives in Jaipur and works from his base in the city.
