Pandu Masanam

Pandu Masanam (1966- 2010) hailed from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh. Trained at JNTU College of Fine Arts in Hyderabad, his work is characterised by its detail and classical feel. Well read in the history of art as well as Telugu classical literature, especially the Bhagavatham, he created a series of paintings on Krishna and his great legend. His finesse in drawing, colouring and composition and ability to handle a range of media, including paintings in wash technique, oils, acrylics and water colours, is reflected in his repertoire rich in lines and forms. Pandu participated in a number of exhibitions and art camps and worked from his studio in Hyderabad where he breathed his last at a young age.
